No doubt, that the ruling party All Progressive Congress (APC) and President Buhari had greater advantage to win the next year general election. Because with Buhari still remain as the Commander in the Chief of Armed Forces, implies that they still control all the security personnel and agencies that are meant to make the election hitch-free. Meanwhile, the country’s leading and strongest opposition party Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are working all round the clock to snatch back the power from the present ruling party APC, but they are in dilemma of choosing the rightful, worthy and credible candidate that can defeat the Buhari’s APC in 2019.
In the aftermath of the mass defection of lawmakers from the ruling party to the opposition party last week, both Nigeria’s senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki and Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal has finally announced their defection from the All Progressive Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party, the inclusion of both Northern strong politician of our time makes the number of PDP’s potential candidate has increased by two.

Atiku Abubakar
It’s no longer news that Atiku Abubakar is not interested to become Nigeria president in 2019, after all his previous attempt that has failed woefully but this time around again he will be facing another huge task of fighting to get the ticket within his party. Rabiu Kwankwaso
Former Kano State Governor and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has defected from the APC back to the PDP, and his major eye is on the presidential ticket. His political antecedent as state governor in Kano and political clout of followers that he controls implies that he’s one of the best options to defeat Buhari in the North.
Aminu Tambuwal
In the last three and half years now, Aminu Tambuwal from the Sokoto has been described as one of the most working best governors from the northern part of Nigeria, and also among top five best working governors in Nigeria. His defection from the APC to the PDP recently implies that he will continue his ambition for the presidency seat in the party. However, he has been described as one of the best options to defeat Buhari comes 2019 general election.
Bukola Saraki
As the situation stands now, Senate President is arguably one of the most influential politicians in Nigeria right now, even the presidency agrees with that in their last two years birthday message to him. Following his defection from the APC to the PDP recently, there are speculations that he could challenge Atiku and the rest to contest for PDP’s presidential ticket. Just yesterday, he was announced as the national leader of the party at the 81st National Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
