Following violent protest demonstrations at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, the istration as shout down the school indefinitely this evening and also order the students to vacate from the school premises on Thursday afternoon.
The student of OAU, Ile Ife, has embark on protests against the tuition fee hikes by the management of the school about few weeks ago.
According to the press statement released out this evening by the D. O. Awoyemi, Registrar and Secretary to the university council cited “persistent disruption of normal activities and peace on campus as a result of violent demonstrations by students, led by the Student Union Executive,” as the rationale for the decision.
All student are to vacate from the school premises by 12: Noon tomorrow 19th June,2014.
