One of Korea’s most accomplished diplomats, Jae-ho (Hwang Jung-min), is sent by the Korean government to handle the situation. Once there, he approaches the Afghan government for assistance and makes every effort to release the hostages.
The point men Hyun bin as his efforts, though, are in vain. He is compelled to work with Dae-sik (Hyun Bin), a special agent with knowledge of the Middle East, as a result of his failure. The first hostage is killed just as they start moving toward the Taliban. With nowhere else to turn, the two team up against the clock to free the remaining hostages.
